Prom songs are part of what makes prom an important part of the teenage prom experience. Some people think of a prom song as the 'theme' of the prom event, while others just think of it as one of the many songs played at prom. Fast Songs
An idea that many prom committees capitalize on is the idea that the 'big' song of the night shouldn't be a slow song, but instead a fast one. By doing so, the night seems more like a celebration. The song is normally a song that most of the class knows and when the song is played it becomes a giant class sing-along. Of course, this is not for every prom or class. Where To Find Songs For Prom
Maybe none of the listed prom songs will work for your particular prom. Maybe no one in your class has a great suggestion either. Where do you look from there? More places to find prom songs:
- Ask the the teachers: Many teachers have had to chaperone prom before and can sometimes remember songs that have been played in past years. They might even have a few ideas of their own that you may not have thought of. Teachers of interest to ask would be whomever is in charge of the yearbook and teachers who have been working at the school for a long time.
- DJ's: More likely than not, your prom will have a DJ. But that shouldn't stop you from asking other DJ's for their ideas. Especially if they've worked a prom before, local DJ's have a good idea of the flavor in an area and always have a song in mind.
Important Note
Whatever song or songs are played at prom, it's likely that someone will remember it. Putting a good amount of thought into the song prior to the prom increases the chances that someone will remember the song in a positive manner.
